Cityscapes
Our first project is called "Cityscapes". Just like a landscape is a picture of land a cityscape is a a picture of a city. In this project everybody will be creating a city next to water. You will be able to design your own buildings to create a unique city. In this project we will learn about cityscapes, warm and cool colors, and the printmaking process.

Project Steps
1. Paint warm colors (red. orange and yellow) for sky
2. Paint cool colors (blue, violet and green) for water
3. Draw different buildings to create a skyline on paper strip
4. Fill buildings with different patterns and windows
5. Tape paper to foam piece
6. Trace over drawing to dent in image of buildings into foam
7. Double check foam grooves by drawing the buildings a second time
8. Bring warm and cool color painting and foam block to printing table
9. Have Mr. L apply ink to foam block
10. Print ink foam block onto picture with roller on warm color top half
11. Cut apart buildings and ghost print reflection on cool color bottom half
